The Results

Background

Avenlur came to 5x Dashboard as a new TikTok Shop account with no sales history, minimal off-platform brand presence, and a high-ticket catalog where every product retails above $100. Best seller priced at $179, second best seller at $129, third best seller at $519. The owner was skeptical of TikTok Shop as a sales channel and budget-constrained, willing to commit only 5-7 samples for the initial launch.

Challenges & Objective

This was one of the most resource-constrained launches our TikTok shop agency have taken on. They had multiple operational constraints layered on top of a cold-start TikTok Shop account:

Zero starting GMV and no creator content on the platform
A 5-7 sample cap for the entire initial launch, on items costing $100+ apiece
Owner skepticism about whether TikTok Shop could move premium-priced inventory
Storefront discounting blocked by the brand owner, removing a standard TikTok Shop conversion lever
Mid-engagement SKU deletions and price changes made without notice
Initial creator content produced strong view counts but weak conversion

They needed a path to scale high-ticket revenue with a tight sample budget, no retainer pool, and no discounting allowed.

Our Solution

5x Dashboard rebuilt the launch plan around capital efficiency, ran two distinct creator strategies as budget conditions changed, and used CRM outreach to close the view-to-sale gap:

Retainer-Based Creator Onboarding (Months 1-3): Skipped the high-cost top creators and recruited mid-tier creators with proven $60K-$70K GMV history. Paid $20-$30 per video retainers in exchange for 7-10 videos each, instead of the standard one-off video deal.
Pivot to Commission-Only Creator Outreach (Month 3 Onward): When the retainer budget was pulled, switched to commission-only outreach to proven mid-tier creators in the brand's category. Used existing creator relationships and product-market fit to keep video volume up without paid commitments.
Selective Sampling Discipline: Held the sample pipeline deliberately tight. 1,600+ creator sample requests sat in the review queue, including half-a-million-GMV creators, that the team intentionally did not approve in order to preserve margin while still hitting six-figure monthly revenue.
GMV Max Campaign Optimization: Active campaign management rather than set-and-forget. Continuous adjustment held ROI at 4x on the ad-attributed share of revenue.
Customer Outreach for View-to-Sale Conversion: Initial creator videos generated high views but low purchase rates. Layered TikTok Shop's CRM customer outreach to convert browsers into buyers, closing the gap between organic content reach and actual orders.
Catalog Expansion in Months 4-5: Once the lead product was converting, added two more SKUs into the affiliate outreach pipeline. Both now contribute meaningfully to monthly GMV.
