How To Become A TikTok Shop Affiliate In 2026

To become a TikTok Shop Affiliate, you must be at least 18 years old and have a minimum of 1,000 followers. You can apply in the app through TikTok Studio > Monetization > TikTok Shop for Creators. If you have fewer than 5,000 followers, you will enter a 30-day pilot program with posting limits.

How To Become A TikTok Shop Affiliate

Step 1: Apply In TikTok Studio

• On your TikTok profile, select TikTok Studio
• Open the Monetization tab
• Choose the TikTok Shop for Creator option and tap Join now.

You can also use the "Convert your account" shortcut on mobile to turn an existing TikTok account into an affiliate account.

Step 2: Confirm Your Age

After registering, you have two months to verify your age using one of these methods:

• In-app recognition: up to 3 attempts
• Credit card authorization: up to 6 attempts
• ID and selfie upload: up to 6 attempts

Tip: Check that your ID photo is clear before submitting because attempts are limited.

Step 3: Promote Products From Affiliate Center

Your application approval unlocks the TikTok Shop Affiliate Center, where you can:

• Browse available products
• Request approval to promote the products you choose
• Tag approved products in your videos and TikTok LIVE

Step 4: Verify Your Identity

Identity verification happens after you earn your first commission (applies to creators who joined from July 2025 onwards). You'll need to submit:

• Your full name
• Date of birth
• The address on your ID
• Front and back images of a government-issued ID

You get up to 10 attempts to submit the correct details and 2 appeals if your verification is rejected. Your affiliate links stay hidden, and your first commission can't be withdrawn until you're verified.

Step 5: Set Up Your Commission Account

You'll have to provide your personal and tax information to set up a commission account on TikTok where your payments will arrive.

TikTok Shop Affiliate Requirements In 2026

You have to meet these requirements to become a TikTok Shop affiliate in the US:

• At least 1,000 followers
• Age 18 or older
• Based in the United States
• Not a government, politician, or political party account
• No record of having e-commerce permissions revoked
• No shared login with an account that has a history of serious violations
• An account in good standing under the guidelines of TikTok
• Must pass Creator Identity Verification

You're eligible for the TikTok Creator Pilot Program with 1,000 to 5,000 followers and the standard TikTok Affiliate Program once you pass 5,000.

TikTok Shop Creator Pilot Program

The Creator Pilot Program is a 30-day probationary phase for creators with 1,000 to 5,000 followers. You can use the creator pilot program to start monetizing early, but it has some limitations until they graduate.

Limitations For Pilot Creators

• You can promote products from shops with a performance score of 95% or higher
• Max 3 shoppable videos per day
• Max 3 shoppable LIVEs per week
• No access to TikTok campaigns

These limits apply to standard Pilot creators. If your account is flagged for rule violations, piracy, or low-quality content, you'll be moved to Extended Pilot status with stricter restrictions:

• Up to 3 shoppable videos per week
• 1 shoppable LIVE per week

You can remove the Extended tag by improving your Creator Health Rating above 176 points. We recommend following the TikTok Shop Content Policy to keep your account in good standing.

In our experience, creators overlook these three things about the Pilot Program limits:

1. The quota counts published shoppable videos. Deleting or hiding videos doesn't free up your slot.
2. Your quota resets every Monday at midnight PST. Check your remaining slots under Creator Center > Settings > Creator Pilot Program.
3. The limits only apply to shoppable content; your regular videos and LIVEs stay unlimited.

How To Graduate From The Creator Pilot Program

You can graduate from the Creator Pilot Program after 30 days in the program, as long as you have 5,000+ followers. Graduation removes all limits on your shoppable content. You can also remove limits before graduation if you hold a Creator Health Rating of at least 176 points, clear the Pilot Program quiz, and meet one of the following in the past 30 days:

• 6 or more shoppable videos, each at least 8 seconds long
• 1 e-commerce LIVE of at least 5 minutes
• 10 or more orders from your shoppable content

This removes limits on all content except shoppable videos, which stay capped at 3 per day until you reach 5,000 followers. But you cannot graduate while flagged as an Extended Pilot creator.

Why TikTok Shop Affiliate Applications Get Rejected

• You don't meet the basics: You need at least 1,000 followers, must be 18 or older, and be a resident of the US. Government, politician, and political party accounts aren't eligible.
• Your account has a bad history: TikTok rejects accounts with revoked e-commerce permissions or accounts that share a login with high-violation accounts.
• You ran out of age confirmation attempts: You get 3 attempts for in-app recognition, 6 for credit card authorization, and 6 for ID and selfie upload. Double-check your details before submitting to make sure you get approval before running out of attempts.
• Your identity verification failed: A blurry or expired ID is the top cause. Use "Resubmit Now" to try again with a clear, valid ID (up to 10 attempts). If that fails, use "Appeal" and upload a real-time selfie holding your ID (up to 2 attempts).

Violations That Cost You Affiliate Permissions

TikTok removes affiliate permissions from creators who violate content rules. We've seen creators hit with the strictest penalties for using editing tricks to hide violating content. These tricks include:

• Combining clips to hide violating content
• AB-frame editing (rapidly switching between two clips to cover up content)
• Using deceptive transitions to hide rule-breaking footage
• Re-uploading removed content in a changed form

These violations lower your Creator Health Rating, and repeated violations can cost you your affiliate permissions.
